Aurora
Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora and occasionally stylized using uppercase letters in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is released in May of 2015 by Decca Records. It has received high praise from the media and bloggers. She has previously released two top-of-the-line covers Half the World Away by the group Oasis for a Christmas advertisement from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry, who endorsed the song Runaway from her side, also gave her the track a little more attention. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was finding a keyboard in her loft, and becoming amazed by the music. The parents of her May-Britt family along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as a profession or a pastime, but for growth. The singer began to write songs of her own. Alongside Bjork She also cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. Her mother was supportive of her performing her music publicly, not to gain fame but rather to help others realize how important they are and what they can do for humanity. At age 6, she began to play the piano. At age nine, she began writing her own songs. She didn't tell her family about her music until she reached fourteen. Aurora did not have a set goal. Her sole passion is to compose music. For her, music is the best means of communicating anything.
